Scrabble
Pick your letters to make a word
Two E’s, I, U, Q and two O’s
Wrack your brains for the slightest clue
A word with six vowels, heaven knows?
Put down OO, score just four
Pick two new letters from the bag
Oh great! Two F’s that’s all I need
Someone is having a gag!
I know a word that would score real high
If I could get just one more U
That would put me high up the ranks
With the lovely Scrabble word QUEUE
Opponent puts a seven letter word
Scores 93 all in one hit
I’m struggling to find a string of three
Only word I can get is FIT
A grand old score of 16 I get
Already I’m way behind
Two new letters to my rack I add
Bless me what do I find?
One more I and a useless W
Not another U as I want
Challenger gets a score of 41
I’m left having a wordless rant
Chance has dealt me this useless lot
How does this work in life?
If only Scrabble was as hard as it gets
That would be quite harmless strife
The game goes on, I still don’t score high
Frustration setting well in
I’d love to see what letters they’ve got
But cheating is such a bad sin
At the end of the game I still have Q
Must get rid or be deducted the ten
I don’t mind the loss it’s playing that counts
And I can always play them again
That’s it the game’s all over now
I have quite comprehensively lost
Maybe next time lady luck will smile
I’ll be wordsmith and not count the cost

I say Raindate to you :-) x
Bumpsy, lovely little poem on Scrabble! I love the game, and play Lexulous now, on Facebook. My Grandma and I used to play all the time, though.
Sorry ... I accidentally repeated myself!
What a fun poem! I love playing Scrabble. I found a similar game called "Table Tiles" for my smartphone, too.

I play scrabble also. Don't you like it when your left with the Q, X and Z, at the end?
